Support from the manufacturer

Help prevent faults before they disrupt your business

Industrial doors are often used repeatedly throughout the working day. Over time, moving components can wear, fixings can loosen and developing faults can affect the safe and reliable operation of the equipment.

Alliance Industrial Doors provides planned servicing, preventative maintenance and repair support for commercial and industrial premises. Whether you operate a single roller shutter or manage multiple doors across several sites, we can tailor a maintenance arrangement around your equipment, operating environment and level of use.

Planned maintenance

Planned Preventative Maintenance contracts

Our Planned Preventative Maintenance contracts provide a structured way to manage industrial doors and roller shutters. The arrangement can be tailored to the number and type of doors at your premises, how frequently they are operated, their condition and the requirements of your business.

Scheduled service visits

Service visits can be arranged at suitable intervals based on the equipment, its condition, operating environment and frequency of use.

Preventative maintenance

Our engineers can carry out lubrication, adjustments, alignment checks, operational testing and inspection of essential moving components.

Safety-related checks

The exact inspection will depend on the design of each door, but may include controls, safety devices, emergency operating equipment and other safety-related components.

Detailed service documentation

Following the visit, service records can detail the doors inspected, work completed, defects identified, safety concerns and recommended remedial work.

Repair recommendations

Where worn or damaged components are identified, we will explain the issue and provide practical recommendations or a quotation for suitable repairs.

Priority support

Priority call-out arrangements and preferential repair rates can be discussed as part of a maintenance agreement.

Repairs and remedial work

Practical support when a door is damaged or unreliable

A faulty industrial door can affect access, security and daily operations. Alliance can assess the problem, explain the work required and provide a quotation for suitable repairs or replacement components.

  • Doors not opening or closing correctly
  • Damaged curtains, laths, panels or guides
  • Motor and control faults
  • Alignment and movement problems
  • Unusual noise or excessive vibration
  • Worn or damaged components
Important: Do not continue operating a door that appears unsafe, moves unexpectedly or is no longer opening and closing correctly.

A more dependable way to manage your doors

Planned maintenance cannot guarantee that a door will never fail, but it can identify many developing problems before they result in a more serious breakdown.

Reduced downtime

Developing faults can be identified and planned for before they interrupt access, security or production.

Clear maintenance records

Service documentation provides a useful record of inspections, work completed and defects identified.

Predictable costs

A planned agreement makes annual maintenance easier to budget and reduces reliance on reactive call-outs.

Service documentation

Clear reporting after each visit

Following an inspection, the service documentation can record the equipment inspected, the work completed and any problems identified. Where further work is required, we will explain the issue and recommend an appropriate next step.

Your service report may include:

  • The doors and equipment inspected
  • Maintenance and adjustments completed
  • Defects or signs of deterioration found
  • Safety concerns requiring attention
  • Recommended repairs or replacement components
  • Further observations relevant to ongoing maintenance
Recommended servicing frequencies

How often should doors be inspected and serviced?

The correct interval depends on the door, its level of use, its condition and the manufacturer's instructions. As a practical starting point, Alliance recommends the following:

Standard industrial doors and shutters

Every 12 months

Standard-use industrial doors and roller shutters should receive a professional inspection and service at least once a year.

Frequently used doors

Every 4–6 months

Doors operating more than 12 cycles per day should generally be serviced every four to six months. Very high usage, harsh conditions or repeated faults may require shorter intervals.

Fire-exit doorsets

Every 6 months

Alliance recommends a professional service at least every six months, supported by routine site checks to confirm that escape routes remain clear and that doors, panic bars and push pads open readily.

Fire-resisting doors and shutters

Every 6 months

Release, closing and safety functions should be inspected and tested by a competent person at least every six months, unless the manufacturer's manual, fire-risk assessment or fire strategy requires a shorter interval.

These are recommended minimum intervals. The manufacturer's operation and maintenance manual, the site's fire-risk assessment, operating conditions, previous damage and service findings may require more frequent inspection.
If a door appears unsafe: stop using it and arrange a competent assessment. Fire-resisting doors and shutters also require consideration of the building's fire-safety arrangements before they are taken out of service.
